Initiatives to Provide Childcare Support and
Promote Women’s Participation

Mitsubishi Shoji Chemical has established a “general employer action plan” based on the “Act on the Promotion of Female Participation and Career Advancement in the Workplace” (Female Participation Promotion Act”) and the “Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children”. We are working to create a workplace environment in which each and every employee is able to enhance their abilities and continue to work, as well as develop a system in which they can maintain a good work-life balance without concern about various life events.

Childcare Support

Obtained "KURUMIN mark" as a certified employer in 2024

After the action period from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2024, we achieved the goals set in the plan and met the certification standards, and thus successfully obtained the "KURUMIN mark".

Of the companies that have established general employer action plans based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children, those that have achieved the goals set in the plans and met certain standards can make an application to receive the certification (KURUMIN certification) from the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare as a ""childcare supportive company"".

Promotion of Women's Participation
We are promoting women's participation as part of our efforts to achieve “Realizing an appealing workplace" which is one of our high priority SDGs issues.

  1. TargetFoster candidates for general office leadership and BPR coordinator
    positions and appoint 4 or 5 employees

    • Raise awareness and promote career advancement programs
    • Conduct questionnaire surveys of general employees and division heads regarding career advancement for women
    • Provide mentoring to female employees appointed to office leadership positions

Past initiatives taken by the company

Balancing work and childcare
  • Create a guidebook on childcare leave and promote awareness
  • Provide explanations on the childcare leave program targeting division heads
  • Shortened working hours (prepare a program that provides better conditions than the legally established requirements)
  • Introduce a flextime program
  • Introduce a childcare leave program (childcare support leave)
Promote the use of annual paid leave
  • Participate in the Positive Off movement promoted by the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Japan Tourism Agency, and promote awareness within the company
  • Set company-wide and divisional targets for paid leave use, and increase the ratio of paid leave used
  • Measures to promote the use of paid leave

→Set the days on which the use of paid leave is encouraged, set anniversary leave
→Promote a change in awareness of how paid leave should be used by circulating regular email magazines

Measures to reduce overtime work
  • Monitor overtime work hours, and pay attention to the health and safety of employees
  • Arrange interviews with an industrial physician or health consultation center, and establish a system for consultations
