OUR BUSINESS
Silicone Group

We handle a number of products, including silicone and fumed silica, that are essential for our daily lives.
These products are used in a wide range of fields such as automobiles, electrical and electronics, cosmetics, architecture, and food.

The Silicone Group handles products that are managed by the Silicone Division, the Organic Electronics Materials Department, the Special Functional Products Department, and the Semiconductor Materials Division of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd., as well as handles fumed silicas produced by NIPPON AEROSIL CO., LTD. Silicones and fumed silicas are essential to our daily lives and used in a variety of industries. Also, their range of applications is continually expanding. Silicones are indispensable for use in cutting-edge industries such as automobiles, architecture, cosmetics, chemicals, energy, and health care. Fumed silicas are traditionally used as raw materials for producing silicones, coating compounds, and coating agents, and in recent years they are being used in electronic devices and optical fibers. Through the sales of silicones and fumed silicas, we strive to contribute to social and economic development and help protect the global environment.

Silicone Group Features

Mitsubishi Corporation transferred its silicones and fumed silicas business to our company on October 1, 2010. Our mobility and specialized expertise help us to better communicate with our customers and establish a closer relationship with them. This enables us to provide services attuned to their needs, which in turn leads to new uses of silicones and fumed silicas, as well as helps us to attract new customers.

Tips for Silicone

Silicone contributes to the environment as an environmentally friendly product. Using silicone reduces greenhouse gas emissions by nine times the amount produced during the manufacturing and disposal of the silicone. In particular, silicone used in the automotive, architecture, and solar energy industries is making a substantial contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas.
The use of silicone is expected to grow even further as a key material of today’s age given its excellent safety and contribution to reducing the environmental burden.
